Powers wines are crafted to showcase Washington State’s diverse microclimates and distinctive vineyards. With varied harvest dates starting in late September to mid-October, we are excited about the complexity of the flavors in this vintage of Malbec. All components except for Champoux Vineyard Malbec were fermented in our stainless steel upright fermenters; we were able to use the rotary fementer on the Champoux Malbec.PDM yeast was used on all components with 100% malolatic fermentation completed in neutral 59-gallon French Oak barrels. The finished wine was then aged for 16 months in a combination of new, 2-year-old and 3-year-old French Oak.

Scotto Family Cellars Old Vine Zinfandel (California)
Wine has been an important part of the Scotto family since 1883 when our great-great grandfather, Salvatore Dominic Scotto, continued the Italian tradition of making wine for the family at his home on Ischia, a small island off the coast of Naples. Through the decades and generations many things have changed with the sourcing of grapes and the process of making wine; including our family's migration from Italy to Brooklyn in 1903 and then to California in 1963. But much has remained the same, with our quest for quality fruit from lower yield vineyards along with state of the art production methods and equipment to produce superior wines for our family and yours.

The Grand Ardèche comes from the best vineyards, carefully selected every year when harvesting begins. The grapes are pressed and the must is placed immediately in oak barrels made by the cooperage at Latour, where the wine will age for approximately 10 months, like the great wines of Burgundy.
